More State Events Decided
The Mixed Pairs was played at Heyfield. Semi finalists were Heyfields Dave and Marianne Hodson to play Gail McKenzie and James McCausland from West Sale along with Sale’s Jan Morton and Steve Chalmer up against the Heyfield pairing of Leonie Flynn and Kevin “Lumpy “Hume.
The first semi was a nail biter decided on an extra end with a measure, victory going to Gail and James 14-13. The other semi was closer but Steve Chalmer found his groove and ran out to a 17-10 win.
The final was similar with Steve matching Gail and James and then playing some telling conversions to win 18-9.
The Men’s Singles was played at Maffra and after two high standard semis it was a rematch from last year in the final. The result this year went the way of Heyfield Shane Holmes 21-17
